Week One
Sketchbook Covers
Imagine transforming your blank canvas into something beautiful, where every line, every shade, and every stroke tells a story. From intricate patterns to bold colors, we’re not just decorating; we’re making these sketchbooks uniquely ours!
Welcome, everyone! Here are your directions for designing the covers of your sewn sketchbooks:
Design both the front and back cover
- Your artistic vision should extend to both sides of your sketchbook. Think of them as complementary canvases waiting to come to life with your creativity.
Choose your tools
- You have a range of options at your disposal—pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers, or any other medium that sparks your imagination. Let your choice of tools guide your design process.
Incorporate essential elements
- Your design must include the following details: your name, “DDN210 Design with Type,” your class day, hour, semester (Spring 2024), and Professor George. Feel free to arrange these elements in any order or layout that enhances your design.
Express yourself
- This is your chance to showcase your unique style and personality. Infuse your covers with elements that resonate with you, whether it’s intricate patterns, bold typography, vibrant colors, or subtle textures.
Make it memorable
- Aim to create covers that not only catch the eye but also leave a lasting impression. Let your design reflect your passion for creativity and design excellence.
Remember, there are no limits to your imagination! Dive in, explore, and let your artistic instincts guide you as you transform your sketchbook covers into stunning works of art.
