DDN210: Typography I

Daily Starters

Typography is not just about letters and fonts; it’s a dynamic language that allows us to communicate visually. The following projects go beyond the traditional, encouraging you to play with letters, experiment with styles, and discover the artistry within the alphabet.

For each activity, you’ll be channeling your creativity into your very own sewn sketchbook. This unique canvas will become the home for your typographic explorations. As you embark on each assignment, plan out your pages strategically, considering the flow and arrangement of your work. This sketchbook isn’t just a space for your creations; it’s a dynamic part of the creative process.

During the first 30 minutes of each class, you’ll dive into the daily assignment, with both day’s tasks due at the end of Day Two’s class period. This timeframe encourages focused yet spontaneous exploration, letting your ideas evolve organically in a condensed burst of creative energy.
